CARBETOCIN INJECTION
Properties of carbetocin injection:
The main ingredient is carbetocin, this product is a colorless clear solution. This strain is a sterilized aqueous solution of oxytocin extracted or chemically synthesized from the posterior pituitary of swine or cattle.

Role and use of carbetocin injection:
1. It is used after elective cesarean section under epidural or spinal anesthesia to prevent uterine inertia and postpartum hemorrhage.
2. The use of carbetocin has not been studied. The administration of carbetocin after vaginal delivery has also not been properly studied, and its dose has not been determined. It can selectively excite the uterus and strengthen the contraction of uterine smooth muscle. Its stimulating effect on uterine smooth muscle varies with the dose and the level of hormones in the body. Small dose can increase the rhythmic contraction of uterine muscle in the third trimester of pregnancy, and the contraction and relaxation are uniform. Large doses can cause tonic contraction of the uterine smooth muscle, so that the blood vessels in the myometrium are compressed and have a hemostatic effect. In addition, oxytocin can promote the contraction of myoepithelial cells around the acinar and glandular ducts of the breast and promote the discharge of milk.

Usage and dosage of carbetocin injection:
Subcutaneous and intramuscular injection: one dose, horse and cattle 6-20 ml; 2-10 ml for sheep and pigs; 0.4 ~ 2 ml for dogs.

Carbetocin injection storage method:
Store at 2-8°C and cannot be frozen.

Precautions for carbetocin injection:
Oxytocin should not be used when the cervix is not open, the pelvis is too narrow, and the birth canal is obstructed.
